Previous trips come to mind as I plan for a new trip to Florida. This is a repost of my favorite photograph of a Limpkin taken on my last trip there just before the pandemic. It’s a tropical bird found in the US only in Florida. They are the only member of their family but are closely related to rails and cranes. The diet is almost exclusively apple snails but includes other fresh water snails and mussels.
