Snapshot – Muscovy Duck

We are in the middle of a week of stormy weather with localized flash flooding, tree damage and power outages. There isn’t much chance of getting out with the camera for a while so I have to make do with reminiscing about drier times. A duck photograph seems very appropriate in this situation. These are Muscovy Ducks photographed near Homestead, Florida in March 2020. Muscovy Ducks are native to Central and South America but there are feral flocks of escaped domestic birds in the U. S.

My fingers are crossed that Hurricane Lee, now moving up along the Atlantic coast, stays out at sea and misses us next week!
