Hot July Morning (Part 2)

Some more photographs taken on a hot summer morning.

This Great Egret seems to be panting in the hot humid air. Birds do have a form of panting that they use to keep cool. But I am not sure if they use it while flying. So I’ll leave it as an open question.

These are female Mallards flying from one part of a waterway to another. They can cool off with a refreshing swim!

An American Crow apparently flew too close to a Tree Swallow nesting site. One of the two parents made a very close pass at the Crow to encourage it to keep moving along.

A Least Tern did some fishing close to where I was standing and I was able to get some photos at a shorter distance than usual. Plus, it was doing some hovering and not moving too erratically. I had a better chance of keeping it in my viewfinder.

  1. I have been getting some emails with your subject line…birds in my viewfinder.  I can tell they’re not yours.  I also get emails from Sue which are obvious hacks. Boy you have to be so careful!  Hope you are doing well.. Jim
